Renaly — legal

Terms of Service

App
Renaly: Kidney Diet & Labs (Android, com.renaly.app)
Effective date
18 September 2026
Provider
Roman Gavrilov, a sole trader established in the Republic of Moldova

1. The short version

  • Renaly helps you track kidney-friendly eating and your lab results. It is not a medical device and it is not medical advice.
  • Renaly Plus is a subscription. It renews automatically until you cancel. You cancel in Google Play, and you keep access until the period you paid for ends.
  • A free trial becomes a paid year unless you cancel before it ends. We send you a reminder first.
  • Your health data lives on your phone. We can't see it, so we can't recover it if you lose your phone or delete the app.
  • You must be 18 or older.

2. Agreement

These Terms are a contract between you and Roman Gavrilov (“we”, “us”), the developer of Renaly. By installing or using Renaly you accept them. If you don't accept them, don't use the app.

Google Play's own terms also apply to your download and purchase. Google is not a party to these Terms and is not responsible for Renaly. Where Google Play's terms give you more rights than these Terms, Google Play's terms win.

3. Medical disclaimer — read this

Renaly is a wellness and self-tracking tool. It is not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, monitor or prevent any disease, and it is not a substitute for professional medical advice.

  • The nutrient limits Renaly suggests are defaults based on published guidelines (KDIGO, KDOQI, UK Kidney Association, AUA) and common renal dietitian practice. Your own needs may be different. Confirm every limit with your nephrologist or renal dietitian, and use the app's “limits from my care team” setting to enter what they tell you.
  • Food verdicts (“Yes”, “In moderation”, “Avoid”) are calculated arithmetic based on those limits and the food data available. They are guidance, not a clinical decision.
  • Nutrient values come from public databases (USDA FoodData Central, Open Food Facts) and from product labels. They are estimates. Recipes, restaurant dishes and home cooking vary. Some foods have unknown values for some nutrients, and Renaly tells you when it doesn't know rather than guessing.
  • Lab values you enter or import are not interpreted as a diagnosis, and never change your limits automatically. Photo import can misread a number — check every imported value against the original report.
  • Photo plate recognition estimates what is on a plate and how much. It gets things wrong. Always review and correct the items before saving.
  • Never change your diet, fluid intake, medication or dialysis routine because of something Renaly showed you. Talk to your care team first.
  • In an emergency, call your local emergency number. Renaly is not a monitoring service, does not alert anyone on your behalf, and reminders may not be delivered — phones run out of battery, Android suspends apps, and notifications can be blocked.

You use Renaly at your own risk and remain responsible for your own health decisions.

4. Who may use Renaly

You must be at least 18. Renaly is not for children. If you use Renaly for someone you care for, you confirm that they know and agree, and that you are entitled to handle their health information.

5. Your account and your data

Renaly has no user account. Everything you enter is stored on your own phone.

  • We cannot recover your data. If you lose your phone, uninstall Renaly, or clear its storage, the data is gone unless Android's own backup restored it to your Google account.
  • Back up your phone. Android Auto Backup is on for Renaly if it is enabled on your device.
  • You are responsible for what you enter. Renaly can only be as accurate as the information you give it.

How we handle the small amount of data that does leave your phone is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

6. Renaly Plus — subscriptions and purchases

6.1 What's free and what's paid

Renaly's core is free forever: food logging with verdicts, your daily limits, one lab value and basic recipes.

Renaly Plus adds plate photo logging, the phosphorus additive scanner, unlimited labs and trends, lab photo import, family sharing, exports, home-screen widgets and binder reminders.

6.2 Plans and prices

PlanPrice (US)Trial
Yearly$39.99 per year3-day free trial
Monthly$6.99 per monthNo trial
Lifetime$99, one paymentNo trial

Prices are shown in your local currency and differ by country. Taxes may be added depending on where you live. The exact price you will be charged is always shown by Google Play before you confirm.

6.3 Auto-renewal — the part you should read twice

  • Yearly and monthly plans renew automatically at the then-current price, charged to your Google Play payment method, until you cancel.
  • Renewal happens within 24 hours before the current period ends.
  • A free trial turns into a paid subscription unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. We send a reminder in the app on day 2 of the 3-day trial, but you are responsible for cancelling in time.
  • Lifetime is a one-time purchase. It does not renew. “Lifetime” means for as long as Renaly is published and operated — see section 9.

6.4 Cancelling

Cancel any time in the app (You → Subscription → Cancel, which opens Google Play) or directly at play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions.

Cancelling stops the next charge. You keep Plus until the end of the period you already paid for. Cancelling does not delete your data, and deleting your data does not cancel your subscription.

You may also be able to pause your subscription in Google Play instead of cancelling.

6.5 Refunds

Purchases are handled by Google, so refunds follow Google Play's refund policy. Request a refund through Google Play. We can't process payments or refunds ourselves, but if Google declines and you think you were treated unfairly, email support@mobrix.dev and we'll look at it.

If you live in the EU, UK or another place with a statutory right of withdrawal, that right applies on top of Google's policy. Note that by starting to use a digital service immediately you may waive the 14-day withdrawal right, as Google Play's checkout explains.

6.6 Price changes

If we change the price of an existing subscription, Google Play will notify you in advance and, where the law requires it, ask you to accept the new price before it takes effect. You can always cancel instead.

6.7 Referrals and promotional offers

Referral rewards and discounted offers are a courtesy, have no cash value, can't be combined unless we say so, and may be withdrawn or changed. We may cancel rewards obtained through fake installs, multiple accounts or other abuse.

7. Family sharing

If you turn on family sharing, you choose who to invite, and the invite itself carries the key that lets their phone decrypt your data. Anyone who gets that invite link can read the shared data, so send it only to the person you intend, and turn sharing off if you change your mind. The data is end-to-end encrypted: we store only ciphertext and cannot read it, which also means we cannot recover a share whose invite you lost.

If you are the caregiver, you may only use Renaly's sharing for a person who has agreed to it.

8. How you may and may not use Renaly

You may use Renaly for your own personal, non-commercial use, and to care for one person you support.

You may not:

  • reverse engineer, decompile or extract the app's food or recipe database for redistribution or for another product;
  • use Renaly to give clinical advice to other people as a service, or present its output as professional dietary advice;
  • resell, sublicense or share paid access;
  • interfere with the app's security, bypass purchase checks, or automate access to our servers;
  • upload content to family sharing that is unlawful or that you have no right to share.

Renaly, its design, code, database compilation and content are protected by copyright. We grant you a personal, revocable, non-transferable licence to use the app. Nothing more.

Third-party data. Nutrient data is derived from USDA FoodData Central (public domain) and Open Food Facts, which is licensed under the Open Database License (ODbL). Attribution and licence notices are shown in the app under About.

9. Availability, changes and ending

We try to keep Renaly working and available, but we don't promise uninterrupted service. Features that depend on other companies (Google Play billing, Google's Gemini API, Open Food Facts, our database provider) can change or stop, and features may change with them.

We may modify, suspend or discontinue features, or the app as a whole. If we discontinue Renaly entirely, we will give at least 60 days' notice in the app, stop selling new subscriptions, and refund a fair pro-rata share of any lifetime purchase made in the previous 12 months. Your data stays on your phone and exports will keep working during that notice period.

We may suspend your access if you materially breach these Terms.

10. Warranties and liability

Renaly is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent the law allows — including any warranty of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or that nutrient data, verdicts or lab readings are correct or complete.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data, lost profits, or health consequences arising from your use of Renaly. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us for Renaly in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 50, whichever is greater.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for your mandatory consumer rights. If you are a consumer in the EU, UK or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer protection, you keep every right that law gives you, and those rights override anything here that conflicts with them.

Some jurisdictions don't allow the exclusions above, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. If a change is material, we'll show it in the app before it takes effect and update the date at the top. Continuing to use Renaly after that means you accept the new Terms. If you don't accept them, stop using the app and cancel any subscription.

12. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Moldova, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

If you are a consumer, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in your own country's courts.

Before starting any formal dispute, please email support@mobrix.dev — almost everything gets resolved that way. EU consumers may also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform.

13. General

  • If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
  • Our not enforcing a provision isn't a waiver of it.
  • You may not transfer these Terms. We may transfer them to a successor if Renaly is sold, and your rights stay the same.
  • These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about Renaly.
