Before you download
Is Renaly a medical device?
No. Renaly is a nutrition and lab tracking tool. It doesn’t diagnose, treat, cure, monitor or prevent any disease, and it isn’t a substitute for professional medical advice. Never change your diet, fluid intake, medication or dialysis routine because of something Renaly showed you — talk to your care team first.
Where do the daily limits come from?
The defaults are drawn from published kidney guidelines — KDIGO, KDOQI, the UK Kidney Association and the AUA — plus common renal dietitian practice, and they’re adjusted for your stage, dialysis type and weight.
They are starting points, not prescriptions. If your dietitian gave you different numbers, enter theirs in Limits and Renaly will use those instead. Entering a lab result never changes a limit on its own.
Does my health data leave my phone?
Your diary, labs, medications, dialysis sessions and profile stay in the app’s private storage on your device. There is no server copy.
A few features do reach the internet, and each one is listed in the privacy policy: barcode lookups send the barcode number, family sharing uploads an end-to-end encrypted snapshot, purchases go through Google Play, and optional usage analytics send app events that never contain health values.
Does it work offline?
Yes. The food database lives on your phone, so search, portions and verdicts all work with no connection. Barcode lookups for packaged products and the photo features need the internet.
Which countries and languages?
Renaly is available worldwide on Google Play, in English, German, Spanish, French, Portuguese (Brazil), Japanese, Indonesian and Turkish. Cloud plate-photo logging isn’t offered in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland.
Is there an iPhone version?
Not yet. Renaly is Android only at launch.
How do I cancel?
In the app under You → Subscription, or directly at play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions. You keep Plus until the period you already paid for ends. Cancelling doesn’t delete your data, and deleting your data doesn’t cancel a subscription.
My food isn’t in the database.
Add it as a custom food with whatever values the label gives you, and it’ll be there next time. You can also combine ingredients into a saved meal and log the whole plate in one tap.
The photo scanner got my plate wrong.
It will sometimes — it’s estimating from a picture. You can edit or remove every item before saving, and the nutrient figures always come from the food database rather than from the photo, so correcting the item corrects the numbers.
